1962 Buick Water Pumper

This buggy was owned and operated by my father Earl Bryan. Earl built this Water-Pumper from the ground up in 1962. This was a real head turner for it's time! Earl used a 322 cu in. 'nailhead' V-8 engine out of a 1956 Buick Road Master, with 24 in. straight pipes bolted to the heads for exhaust. Earl originally built this buggy with a Fiat radiator but soon found out that he needed more cooling. A much larger Ford radiator proved to be the answer. Earl later added another set of hand grooved knobby tires to the rear which improved traction and stability. For more photos, check out Earl's gallery. |
